Heinz Gress

Heinz has been a self employed business man for most of his adult life.

Heinz is a Tool Maker by trade and the discipline learned and ability to create a tool for a task has been invaluable during his business life. Heinz operated a successful tool making business in Sydney before relocating the business to Coffs Harbour.  Recognising the limitations imposed by distance Heinz started a manufacturing and retail operation based around the leisure activity of fishing.  Sale of the retail and manufacturing operation and a honest evaluation of his future during the “recession we had to have” led to another business venture, aquaculture.

Heinz became one of the leading experts in his area of aquaculture with his expertise being applied to the farming of eels and consulting roles within the industry.  Aquaculture is still an area of interest for Heinz although he has sold all his interests and effectively retired from consulting as his work ethics and desire to operate in a professional manner require 100% of his effort to be directed to the establishment and expansion of the game of Kegel in Australia.

Heinz and Dorothy established a prototype Kegel Barn in August 2003 based on their research in Europe and their belief that the Australian public would enjoy the challenge of Kegel bowling, the variety of games and the cost effective establishment and running of a Kegel Barn would prove to be a successful model.  They obtained the Australian distribution rights for Vollmer Kegel equipment in 2004 and began to seriously examine mechanisms for expanding the game.

The establishment of a prototype Kegel Barn has provided valuable data.  The identification of market segments, development of league bowling, limitations of scale, enthusiastic acceptance and enjoyment of the game by diverse demographics both locally and from all over Australia have enabled Heinz to develop a reproducible system that is being offered to interested parties that would like to establish a Kegel centre.

His business acumen, his consulting skills, and his unique Kegel knowledge mean Heinz is able to provide assistance in establishment, building and long term management for a Kegel Bowling venue.

Dorothy Gress

Dorothy is a Nurses Aid with supervisory experience.  She has a genuine interest in people, their welfare and long term goals.

Dorothy has recently resigned from nursing to take a greater role in the operation of Kegel Sport’s development and to ensure that the establishment and expansion of Kegel Centres in Australia is achieved with the right people.
